Shoppers Paradise

Postby Lester Piggott » Mon Apr 14, 2008 5:36 pm

Something that's been bugging me for about 20 years! In Shoppers Paradise, just after the line about "Sylvanian Families" a young girl can be heard saying something in the background. I've never been able to figure it out and it bugs me every time!! Does anyone know?!

Dragging up a old thread but saves making a new one

Did anyone figure out what the girl says?
Also does anyone know what the end lyrics are?
Something like
"Shoplifters will be prosecuted, hung, drawn, quartered and then executed
Armageddon come and meet your maker, 3 steps to heaven on the escalator..."
and then I'm sure theres summat about a paper bag

They aren't in the cd or the site and was trying to finish the page on the wiki

I think it's Simon's (could be another name here) cookbook, in hardback and in paperback. Pretty sure about all of that except the Simon bit.

I think it is: "Sign this cookbook, in hardback and in paperback..."

I believe the little girl says "I'd like to have a million pounds" and the end bit is
"Shoplifters will be prosecuted, hung, drawn, quartered and then executed.
Armageddon come and meet your maker, it's 3 steps to Heaven on the escalator.
Signing his good book in hardback and in paperback."

There you go - straight from the horse's mouth!

(Not that I am implying that you are a horse, Jim. Nor that any part of your body has equine similarities...

I just wanted an excuse to be the second person on here to use the word "equine". Or does that count as a third..?!)
:?

Cheers to everyone for their answers, finished the wiki page off as I really don't have anything better to do
I wonder if LP will come back for his answer

If your ever at a loose end Jim there's still some missing samples from A Perfect Day...

Does anyone remember the argos type catalogue shops called Shoppers Paradise? I am sure it was something to do with Woolworths although I may be imagining that bit, in fact I may be imagining the whole thing
