Finally had the time to actually get stuck in to reading this...absolutely loving it.

Right, I finished it today. I'd been holding off reading the last few pages - you know when you just don't want a book to end? I alway get the post-book blues; being ripped away from a story I'd become so involved with, desperate for it to continue, or to be able to read it all again without remembering what happens.

I've got lots to say on it, but if I start now I'll never tidy my flat, so I'll do it tonight!

My wife, Emma, finished it last week. She loved it but it really disturbed her. I, on the other hand, found it strangely optimistic.

A wonderful, wonderful book.

Mr. Bob often buys me some great novels for birthdays and Christmas. He has a very good hit rate of chosing books for me (as does my sister in law!). I take it you have all read 'The Miracle Life Of Edgar Mint' by Brady Udall? If not please do. This was another Mr. Bob choice that I have since purchased for five people and every single one of them has loved it.

Since finishing reading this, I have, at least once a week, terrifying post-apocalyptic dreams where nearly the entire population has been wiped out as well as all wildlife. There's also hoards of raving 28 days later style 'people' running around killing and eating everyone. I guess reading it at the same time as watching the Dead Set was a bad idea.

An amazing book that shook me to my core!. His style of writing adds to the feeling of the book, and it's a real emotional rollercoaster. Made me hug my kids lot's for a good few weeks later!.

Was dubious of the film, but watched it last week. All in all, pretty good. It certainly got the same emotions going in me. You don't get the idea of how much time has lapsed, and it doesn't seem dark enough (i.e the sky/lighting), but it's good. The end is very well done, and my eyesight did get a little blurred!.

LMAO. Nope, was never guilty of wearing mustard moleskins and pink shirts................that was the Guards I think!.

The other day I was talking to someone about joining the Army, and was trying to convince them that the Navy was the way forward. I spent my last 3 years working in a Careers Office alongside RAF/Navy. I think it's a bit like Goldilocks and the Tri-Services:

RAF - hhmmmm, this bed is too stuffy and posh!!
Army - hmmmm, this bed is too shouty and uncomfortable
Navy - aahhhhh...this bed is just right, if not a little cramped and smelling of somebody else!!

If I had my time again, I'd definitely join your mob!.
