I voted for 'Perfume' only because I saw the film last month, and am curious to find out if it bears any similarity to the book. Was it not once deemed to be 'unfilmable'? Having said that, I was impressed with the film (despite the questionable orgy at the end...) :?

And speaking of Russel Brand - I'm hearing some very nasty rumors about him, even over here.

Stay tuned to the blogs...........

Huh??

Can we have a link to one of these blogs, please? I don't like the man so nothing could make me dislike him more!

I'd be interested in reading Perfume. I have half of my current Will Self to finish first though :?

Im not familiar with many of them so I looked them up on Waterstones. They all looked interesting but I voted for Apathy and Other small victories as it piqued my interest the most

You may be wrong about that. I'm sure your dislike will grow exponentially if the stories are correct. 8)

Except for Russell Brand's book (I don't do autobiographies) they all sound pretty interesting. I think Perfume gets my vote, after what I read about it in the reviews on Amazon.

That said, I'll probably try a few of the others too as it's payday and I'm nearing the end of my last new book.

What! You've never read Mike Reids book? Or Frank Skinners? Or Ewan Roberts? You're missing out!

Without sounding like a suck up, the last autobiography I read and liked was Jim's Carter book. Oh, and Bez's was great but clearly wasn't written by Bez. I just find them really dry. Just lists of facts, sometimes told with some humorous anecdotes. I like something wordy to get my teeth into.

Just a personal choice really.
