I read this a while ago but really enjoyed it!

I was actually reminded of it as part of it came up as my unprepared non-fiction exam(a few hours ago actually!)

another good biography type thing.
infact, i may read it again

It is the only Bill Bryson book i have managed to finish too!
so what will father christmas bring,
if everyones gone shoplifting?

I love Notes from a Small Island. The only one I found a bit dull was A Walk in the Woods. I don't know why. I assume Bryson must get royalties if part of his books are used in an exam, in which case he must make a fortune because the different boards are always using extracts!

I haven't read this one yet; isn't it autobiographical though?

I thought so, I was just confused as you said it was biography.

I might have to pick that up on my next book buying order.
