Cheers Annie. I knew you'd be the person to ask :lol:

It definitely was pretty hairy and was about 2 to 3 inches long.
That's the only photo I've got as Will wanted to get the photo. I think it was redder than the photo makes it look but a 7 year old really close with the camera flash has made it look a bit orangey.

it's the caterpillar of a really boring brown moth, called the Lackey Moth

ETA; I think that's worth a pint? :wink:

Thanks Annie. I think ours was redder than that, but you've certainly got a damn sight closer than we ever did, so I definitely need to buy you a large drink :lol:

I got an e-mail from OZ, about a workmate of my cousin,
who received these photos at work from his wife.
I see the newspapers have picked up on it.

It has been so hot in WA for over a week…40+ degrees Celsius everyday, very dry also.

A guy at work lives at Maude. His wife sent him these photos of a little Koala which just walked into the back porch looking for a bit of heat relief. She filled up a bucket and this is what happened!
